Parent Alert!

HOW TO KEEP YOUR KIDS SAFE ONLINE

I found this book one day in Phuong Nam Book City. Like many other paranoid parents having pre-teen kids, I found myself on constant worriness about what my kid is watching online. So, this book gave me, at least, a comfort that I am taking action on my fear.

Will, as a security expert, wrote this book together with Nadia Sawalha and Kaye Adams, two moms, explained a lot of useful stuff to lay people like me. Many of the terms used are both general and specific and super helpful to me in a sense that I - as a parent - need to educate myself before trying to intervene with my kid cyper activities.

Some of the topics covered in this book that I really like:
  • Chatting online
  • Cyberbullying and trolls
  • Cyberstalking and tracking
  • Grooming [This one is eye-opening to me]
  • Pornography and violent content
  • Digital footprint

It's hard to shield your kids from online dangers when you don't know what those dangers are.

A great first book to start the year.
