A Kind Gesture

Someone helped me today, someone who doesn't know me at all. Someone who rejected me at my first attempt asking for help, but then changed his mind, went the extra mile to help get me out of a stuck situation. When I offered to pay, which is very reasonable and fair that he charged me for some cash, he did not. He said it was nothing, and told me not to worry. And yet, he denied helping me in the first place.

I don't know if it was reading the book Rejection Proof by Jia Jiang that made me insisted or I saw that the man was perfectly capable of doing it for me and the only question left was his will to act, or I was just thinking I had nothing to lose but to persist. Or maybe it was all.

I got my job done thanks to his kind gesture. And the fact that another girl came in after me, asking for the same thing, he said no, she sighed and walked away made me feel like this guy can be motivated to do more such things. So I brought him a big nice cold drink delivered freshly by Grab before I left the building.

Big smile on his face when I was walking out the door.
